Hi, I'm Skella.

Certified Personal Trainer
and Untraditional Athlete

I’m probably not what you’re expecting.

I don’t come from a traditional sports background.

In fact, once upon a time I hated fitness.

I used to joke about how the only time I ever did a sit up in college was when I was getting out of bed in the morning.

I hated running. I hated how awkward and alone I felt when I went to the gym. I absolutely hated the way diet culture was making me feel about myself.

Then I found Roller Derby…

I always loved roller skating as a kid, and in my 20’s I had built up enough angst to hit like a Mack Truck, so roller derby was a natural fit. I was stunned how much I enjoyed getting sweaty and loved the empowering dynamic of the team. However, I knew if I wanted to compete, I had to cross train. This lead me on the path to find ways to enjoy exercise and actually look forward to it, instead of adding another thing I “had” to do onto my dreaded To Do list.

I knew I couldn’t be the only untraditional athlete in the world, so I wanted to share how to make fitness fun, sustainable and how setting goals above and beyond weight loss can be beneficial both mentally and physically. Once I truly let go of diet culture, I began to feel comfortable in my own skin, and that kind of freedom is a gift I want to share with the world.

I was certified by the National Academy of Sports Medicine as a Personal Trainer in 2020, TRX Certified in 2021, in 2022 I was certified by the Boxing and Barbells Method and in 2023 I became the first Pretty Deadly Self Defense Trainer in North America.

I would be honored to be in your corner. If you think we’d be a good fit, feel free to give me a shout. Click on the Get Started button and let's go!
